MON - FRI: 08:00 - 05:00 PM
The Henley House & Garden Show is an event to celebrate our love of homes and gardens and to support and encourage collaboration between the business of Henley-on-Thames.
It is being directed by Niki Schäfer of Niki Schäfer Interior Design (www.nikischaferinteriordesign.co.uk) and coordinated with the Henley Business Partnership, Helen Harvey of the SODC and Ana Mari Bull Landscape and Garden Design.
Taking place on Saturday 28th Feb (10am-4pm) and Sunday 1st March (11am-4pm) in the Henley-on-Thames Town Hall and a large marquee in Falaise Square, these venues will house 40-50 exhibitors of luxury interiors and gardening products and service providers.
The King’s Arm Barn and the Old Fire Station Gallery will also host a number of workshops and represent the successful Create Festival that started in 2013. There will be workshops for adults and children in a variety of craft and artistic skills including upcycling furniture, art classes, flower arranging and practical help for around the home and garden. In the Town Hall, a series of expert speakers will include Farrow & Ball and professionals from the British Institute of Interior Design and the Society of Garden Designers.
The show has raised much excitement in the town and is being kindly sponsored by many of the retailers and professionals in the property industry. These include Mercers Solicitors, Knights Oriental Rugs, Farrow & Ball, Taylor Jones Kitchens and Outhouse Bathrooms. The show is also being supported by media partner, the Henley Standard.
There are two highlights to the show – a ‘home decor fashion show’ which will entail our local sporting heroes modelling a variety of pieces of furniture to create a room set. Money raised is in aid of a multi-sensory room for The Chiltern Centre, a respite centre and ‘home-from-home’ for disabled children in Henley.
There will also be a spectacular light show within the marquee, which is being kindly sponsored by the Henley Royal Regatta and will feature images of the river and Regatta.
The show is designed to encourage collaboration between the businesses of Henley, an initiative from the Henley Business Partnership. We have already seen an upsurge in membership – in particular from the retailers who wish to be involved in the ‘Design Trail’.
The aim is for this show to bring retailers, businesses, sports clubs, the council and residents together and we aim to bring thousands of visitors to the town on what is normally a quiet weekend. If successful, we aim to roll it out annually (or bi-annually if it’s simply too exhausting to do every year!).
